New Beginnings

This blog will be added to during my time as a graduate student...or as the professors like to say in my program, as a "Professional In-Training." This way everyone can see what's going on in my life in the event that I don't have time to send e-mails or make phone calls as often as I'd like. My first week went fairly well. I am slowly getting used to being an Academic Advisor (which is my GA position). My classes all sound like they will teach me about topics that I have been interested in since I can remember. I definitely feel like I will get the training here that I had hoped to receive. And it sounds like I will learn more about myself in the process. The only downside is the gaping hole in me that being away from home and loved ones has left. I constantly think about what I would be doing if I were at home and I miss my job working with the kids like crazy! But I'm going to stick it out because it is the only way to succesfully realize my dream to be a high school counselor and, eventually, an LPC.
