The happiest place on earth
Well, today is day 3 of our vacation getaway. I wanted to write a blog each day but I've been having too much fun to take the time to type. On Tuesday evening, we had a flight down to Orlando. We actually arrived in Orlando a half hour earlier and things were looking good. However, then we went to baggage claim to get our bags. We weren't really paying attention b/c our flight was not up on the screen yet. Then we looked up and he saw my suitcase and his garment bag go by....which he got. Unfortunately, his second bag with all of his important stuff was not among the bags. We waited. He checked with the baggage people. Waited some more. Checked with baggage again and gave them the hotel info in case the bag showed up. We went to the rental car counter and checked in with them. My Bf went back one last time to check for the bag. No luck. Then we went into the parking garage to choose our car. We actually eyed the same car and agreed on it. We drove to our hotel, checked in and ate dinner at a nearby IHOP. Oh, and the airport called and found his bag and said they would deliver it b/w midnight and 1AM. Then we laid in bed and he watched TV until he fell asleep and I read and then turned out the lights. He woke up at 3 am wondering about his bag. He went to the front desk and got it. In the process he turned all the lights in the room on (yes, I was asleep). He came back with his bag and decided to take a shower (@ 3AM). I tried to keep sleeping with the covers over my head but it didn't work well. The next morning we got up around 10AM. It was Sea World day!!! After showers, we stopped by McD's for breakfast food and drove to Sea World. It was AWESOME!!! I still want to be a marine biologost and work with the orcas soooo much. I teared up at the Shamu show and just walked around sublimely happy all day. Then we stopped by McD's again for a late lunch. We decided whether or not we wanted to stay in Orlando another day and go to Disney. He didn't really and I did. We decided to compromise. Somehow it ended up with us driving back to the same hotel and he went in and got another room for the night. No argument, nothing. It was sooo great! I woke up this morning (somehow he always gets up earlier than I do now) and we got ready for Disney. We got there and rode the tram to the ticket booth. Bought our passes and took the monorail to the MK. Good times, good times! I felt like a little kid again. The last time we went to Disney it was b/c I had free tickets. It was also a few days after my great uncle died so I wasn't as excited. But today was AMAZING! First, we went to see Mickey's PhilharMagic b/c a friend suggested it to me (great suggestion!!) We rode It's A Small World (which, come on, nobody but me likes that)...but he rode it with no complaining and even took pictures! Then we went to the Haunted Mansion..and it went on like that for awhile...one for me, one for him. Then we went to Mickey's Toontown and the clouds got REALLY dark. Very bad weather-looking. I wanted to go in gift shops to get my Eeyore and Tinkerbell fix. We made it to the Pooh gift shop I wanted to go to before the rain hit...but it began raining while we were in there. We tried to wait it out for awhile and notcied all the people around us seemed to be getting ponchos...but we couldn't tell where they were getting them. I saw another register from where I checked out and thought they might be there....they were. $14 later we had clear Mickey ponchos. I cannot tell you how adorable he looked in that goofy (haha, Mickey) poncho. I wanted to take his picture but he had his camera under the poncho. I don't think I will ever forget that moment anyway. We braved the rain b/c I wanted to go to one more gift shop for Tink stuff. Happily, it was just across the way so we weren't out in the rain too terribly long. I wandered around the shop and saw all sorts of figurines I would loved to have bought. They actually had the Belle figurine I have needed for my childhood collection, but I didn't want it to break on the plane. I wandered arounda little longer and finally found the jewelry I was looking for..and spent WAYYYY too much money on it...but who knows whenI will get back to Disney. We left after that b/c we had to get to Daytona in time for a dinner at his grandparents' neighbors. Very nice people, very good food. Our hotel here is AMAZING. On the beach and we can see the ocean to the side of our room. When we got back from dinner we went down and took a walk on the beach. The moon was shining on the ocean so it was a moonlight walk....a.k.a. "I like moonlit walks on the beach, blah blah blah." It was so nice to finally get to do that after 10 years. :) Very happy. Very much in love. Okay, so I didn't get asked any pertinent questions at Sea World or Disney but I have been having the time of my life with the guy I love more than anything. I'm still hopeful and I still want it (especially since I read this great book that many of you should borrow "The Truth Behind the Rock)" but I don't want to ruin my fun by having any talks either. Tomorrow is a beach day/postcard writing and then Saturday is the reason we came down here at DIR (b/c this is really HIS trip, but he's made the last 2 days feel like mine). Okay, I am tired of typing (and he's staring at me wondering what I am typing for so long) so I will write more probably at the end of this trip. And yes, I know this has been a sappy entry....but you know what? That's just the way love is. :)
